Content:

The Level 3 training course in ultrasonic inspection is designed to reinforce the candidate’s knowledge of fundamentals. In addition to standard techniques, new ultrasonic inspection techniques will also be learnt. Furthermore, automated ultrasonic inspection will be dealt with. The following table shows the individual topics of the training course:

Program:

  • Scientific fundamentals of ultrasonic testing
  • Standard manual ultrasonic testing techniques
  • New ultrasonic testing techniques
  • Automated ultrasonic testing on production lines
  • Presentation and evaluation of ultrasonic testing results
  • Characteristics and control of ultrasonic testing equipment
  • Special techniques and applications
  • Bodies of standards relating to the ultrasonic testing of castings, forgings and bars
  • Bodies of standards relating to the ultrasonic testing of weld seams
  • Bodies of standards relating to the ultrasonic testing of sheet metal and tubes and pipes
  • Drafting of a procedure – a guide to ultrasonic testing

Participants and conditions:

This training course addresses persons who have qualifications in engineering or comparable qualifications, have successfully obtained a qualification in BASICS, have passed the Level 2 practical examination in UT and have appropriate professional experience. If the candidate has no Level 2 certificate, in addition to this training course he or she must also register for a practical course (32 h) and pass the practical part of the Level 2 examination.

BASICS Training and examination based on EN ISO 9712

Content:

This training compprises the basic of the Level 3 training. A successfully passed exam is prerequisite for the acquisition of a Level 3 certification in the main procedure. Moreover, we shall provide you here - apart from the general basics of the qualification of personnel - with a broad and solid basic knowledge. You shall receive an in-depth insight into the usual main methods as well as a comprehensive overview of other NDT-methods.

Program:

BASIC Parts A+B:
  • Historical development of personnel certification
  • Certification according EN ISO 9712 / ACCP
  • Employer certification based on SNT-TC-1A and CP-189
  • Materials science and engineering
  • Manufacturing methods and flaw analysis
  • Operation-related imperfections
BASIC Part C:
  • Radiographic testing (RT), fundamentals at Level 2
  • Magnetic particle testing (MT), fundamentals at Level 2
  • Ultrasonic testing (UT), fundamentals at Level 2
  • Penetrant testing (PT), fundamentals at Level 2
  • Visual testing (VT), fundamentals at Level 2
  • An overview of non-destructive testing methods (including other methods such as leak testing, eddycurrent testing, sound emission analysis, infrared thermography, neutron radiography)

Participants and conditions:

This training course addresses persons who completed technical education or  two years of engineering or Level 2 examiners withseveral years’ experience of non-destructive testing.
If the candidate does not have pertinent professional experience at Level 2, practical training courses should be followed as appropriate prior to taking the practical Level 2 examination.

Welcome to our training program

In this part we will inform you about the different trainings we offer. For each training a short description will give you information about the content, duration and pre-requirements. All our trainings are in accordance with EN ISO 9712 or SNT-TC-1A. They are focusing on application issues. By using theoretical and practical work we ensure that skills for applying the respective methods are learned.
